Just a few of my pictures means a lot for me..
this is one of them.. Because it's a portrait of an age of my life when i was lost, confused, depressed, defeated. -- Please, try to understand this work, watch it for some minutes and try to find your own interpretation (I'd love if you tell me what is the history of the picture in your eyes Some people here on dA.. just see the picture, and fav or comment on it with a "nice color/picture/composition", please don't do that this time... Try to think for some seconds to understand. -- Thanks to *luminoire for his help |

with that moment
angustia y dolor tan intenso ke te atrapan...
asficciando lentamente tus pulmones...
esos ke te acercan dia a dia a la muerte....

If i May i'd like to say it reminds me of parts of my childhood, probably 12 to 15, where I felt lost, angry, confused and rejected. and I would often end up behind a closed door (usually either the locked bathroom or the bedroom i shared with 3 brothers where I could take the handle off the door to prevent people coming in). Beleive me though, it was difficult to find any solitary space in a house with 4 siblings.
Being more specific about your image itself, the boy looks as though he's either crying or hiding his eyes, not wanting to look or be looked at. In contrast we have the bright, over-baring light behind him and the fact that he's [ended up] sitting in a really shity, smelly, cramped place.
on reflection it also reminds me, rather ironically, of ending-up in the bathroom after a heavy night's drinking at some party or other. Occasionally i have been sick and then fallen asleep and stayed in there for what seems like hours (needless to say these were my wild years).
So for me this is a really well put together image, the stark, slightly off vertical composition, the blue, heavy contrast lighting and the well observed detail in the body language all work together.
{sorry if I took you too literally when you asked for a full comment, I hope it wasn't too waffle-ey}

......you HAD to be there
"cos i'd rather STAY HERE, WITH ALL THE MADMEN, than perish with the sadmen roaming free
and i'd rather PLAY HERE, with all the madmen, for i'm quite content THEY'RE ALL AS SANE
